The mind is full of energy and I have experienced how strong and productive or weak that energy can make you. When I was transitioning from professional dancer into the “real world,” I was petrified of failing at something new because all I thought I knew was dance. I had trained my entire life to perform professionally and my identity was no longer a professional dancer and needed to be reinvented.
It was a scary time but I knew I had to be brave and put myself out there in fields that laughed at my lack of experience. I played with many ideas and several jobs that were not suited for me but I learned something new about myself in each situation. This growth process led me back to my passion of fitness and forged a pathway that brought a stronger, smarter and more experienced me; allowing me to open my own business.
Never trying something that seems intimidating because you are afraid of failing will hold you back from experiences that can help you grow into a powerful individual. You have to experience failure in order to know you are pushing yourself in life. The amount of strength it takes to pick yourself back up from a failed experience and turn it into a positive learning experience is invaluable for building a powerful, resilient you.
